Dr. Jim Zettel received his doctorate in psychology from Texas Tech University and completed his internship training at the Houston VA. Dr. Zettel’s interest in ADHD started in graduate school where he spent time counseling children and adolescents in multiple rural schools who had ADHD or anxiety/depression problems or other school adjustment problems. He was later involved with the development of adaptive behavior classrooms for children and adolescents having more significant behavioral problems in the school environment. His private practice included work within a pediatrician’s practice where he integrated psychology into the daily pediatric work. Dr. Zettel is certified to provide Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, a specialized behavioral therapy to help parents dealing with oppositional defiance behavior. Dr. Zettel also wrote and implemented treatment protocols for adolescent substance abusers.
Currently, Dr. Zettel focuses his treatment on the following: parent/child interaction therapy, family therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, working with school personnel to develop and implement individualized and workable accommodations for clients with ADHD, and working with clients diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome. Dr Zettel also specializes in Neuropsychological Evaluations and is certified to conduct the comprehensive, “gold standard” assessment used for the diagnosis of autism.
Brodie Simmons is a Board Certified, Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. He earned his Bachelors of Science is Psychology with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Houston. He received his Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2012. He has worked with adults, adolescents and families with substance abuse and dependency issues as well as pervasive mental illnesses, providing individual therapy, parent coaching, and intensive psychotherapy.
Prior to joining The Woodlands Behavioral Health & Wellness Center, Brodie was the Choices Counselor for St. Thomas High School and The Gateway Academy, a private school for adolescents grades 7th through 12th with learning difficulties (autism spectrum, ADHD, ODD, etc.). As the Choices Counselor he provided ongoing prevention programming, tailored uniquely to both school systems, for 15 different specific high risk behaviors. In addition to developing programming for these schools, Brodie also provided therapeutic interventions to many students, faculty, or parents of these school systems.
Brodie has presented at The Southwest Adolescent Treatment Providers Conference, Katy Autism Alliance, as well as given many presentations to parents, faculty and government officials. Brodie is a current member of the American Counseling Association, recently received his National Certified Counselor recognition from the National Board for Certified Counselors, and is an Alumni Mentor for graduate students at Capella University.

Suzanne Senn, M.S., LPC - Staff Therapist
Suzanne received her M.S. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake University Houston and her B.A. in Psychology from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. Suzanne has worked in social service roles with children, adolescents and adults for 20 years, beginning as a direct care provider then moving into case management and supervisory roles before completing graduate school. During graduate school, Suzanne was coauthor of a research study and therapy program guide contracted by the Texas State Attorney General’s office through The Houston Galveston Institute entitled Families Enacting Divorce: A Show of Hope which was approved and utilized to meet court-mandated counseling requirements for families experiencing divorce.
In addition to seeing clients in her practicum at The Houston Galveston Institute, Suzanne completed a one year internship at Interfaith Community Clinic in Oak Ridge North, Texas where she counseled ages 4 to 68. Following completion of graduate school, Suzanne was an adjunct psychology instructor at San Jacinto and Houston Community Colleges for 3 years. After earning her LPC-Intern status, she was a professional facilitator at Depression Bipolar Support Alliance Support Groups in The Woodlands and Tomball while also working as a contract therapist with acute psychiatric patients before settling into a permanent position with New Dimensions Day Hospital The Woodlands where she became the Adolescent Program Director. During her tenure at New Dimensions, Suzanne also facilitated social skills groups at ADD Wellness and worked as a Provisional Sex Offender Treatment Provider primarily with adjudicated adolescents. This included counseling victims of sexual abuse and working towards family reunification.
Dr. Rosie Polifroni Lasiter is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with a specialization in children, adolescents, and families. She moved from California to Massachusetts for her undergraduate education at Smith College where she majored in Psychology. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston. She also completed an internship in assessment and therapy with children and adolescents at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus and a postdoctoral fellowship at Children’s Medical Center at Dallas, focusing on child and adolescent assessment and therapy with a special emphasis on ADHD and autism spectrum disorders.
Dr. Polifroni Lasiter currently specializes in the assessment of ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and emotional and behavioral disorders in children and adolescents. In addition to assessment, her clinical work includes individual and group therapy intervention, specifically Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with children/adolescents and their families to address anxiety disorders, depression, and behavioral management. Dr. Polifroni Lasiter is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.

Lindsay McCarthy, LMFTA-Associate
Lindsay McCarthy received her Bachelors of Science degree in Community, Family, and Addictive Services from Texas Tech University in 2012. During her time at Texas Tech, Lindsay worked toward her license as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She acquired her hours working at the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center, working with adolescents and their families providing individual, family and group therapy. Lindsay also assisted in creating and writing a family therapy program curriculum for families in transition of the juvenile in custody, to their return home.
Lindsay then completed a Masters of Science degree in Human Development with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech University. While in the Washington D.C. area, she completed her internship providing individual, couples and family therapy at Phoenix House, an inpatient adult male substance abuse facility, and the Center for Family Services, an outpatient clinic specialized in treating individuals, couples, and families. Throughout all of her clinical experience, she has worked with individuals suffering from a range of mental disorders and co-occurring disorders. While completing the research for her thesis entitled “Modern Day Crazy: Understanding How Women Make Meaning of Text Messages While Developing an Intimate Relationship,” Lindsay also worked at a private preschool and elementary school as a teacher’s assistant with children ranging in age from 2 ½- 12. Lindsay has found a passion for couples therapy and family therapy work and believes in individualized treatment for each client that comes through the door.
Dr. Orlando Peccora is a Board Certified, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, licensed in the State of Texas, and has been practicing since 1977. He received his General Psychiatry training at Duke University and N.C. State University. He completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. His teaching experience includes Clinical Assistant Professor at O Roberts University, Tulsa and UTMB, Galveston. He was also a Clinical Assistant Instructor at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston.
He was appointed the Medical Director of Rapha Psychiatric Hospitals programs during 1985-1993, the Medical Director of Rader Institute for Eating Disorders, and the Medical Director and co-founder of New Awakening Adolescent Day Programs. Dr. Peccora’s special interests in psychiatry include ADHD, eating disorders, substance abuse, medication management, and the use of internet psychiatry for helping college students. He is fluent in Spanish.
Intensive Treatment Program Manager
Sarah is the Program Manager of our Intensive Treatment Program. Her primary roles with this program include case management between the clinicians and the client, working with the client and their families to ensure that their treatment plan is being fulfilled and coordinating care by setting the client's treatment schedule according to their treatment goals. She is also in charge of account management for clients enrolled in our intensive treatment program, as well as our forensic assessment program. As Program Manager, Sarah helps to ensure that our clinic and various programs are running smoothly with program development and implementation. She is the main point of contact for those with questions about forensic evaluations, pain management evaluations, and our Intensive Treatment Program.
Dr. Melissa Mignogna specializes in pediatric/child assessment and treatment. She received her graduate education in the Clinical Psychology program at Oklahoma State University, and completed her pre-doctoral internship in the pediatric/child psychology track at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB), a member of the LEND (i.e., Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities) network of training institutions. At UAB, she gained extensive training in the assessment of children presenting with complex developmental, behavioral, medical, and psychological difficulties. Dr. Mignogna completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH), where she received specialized training in pediatric psychology. While at TCH, Dr. Mignogna provided inpatient consultations for hospitalized children/adolescents, as well as outpatient psychotherapy services to children, teens, and families presenting with a broad range of pediatric issues.
Dr. Mignogna’s primary clinical interests include adjustment and adaptation to pediatric chronic illness and improving adherence to pediatric medical regimens. Her clinical training also included heavy emphasis on the use of non-pharmacological approaches to managing pediatric pain. Dr. Mignogna has experience in the treatment of pediatric feeding disorders, “picky eaters,” encopresis, sleep difficulties, school anxiety, recurrent pain, headaches, conversion disorders, and terminal illness/end-of-life issues. Clinical interests also include Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and behavior management therapy for families. Additionally, Dr. Mignogna has extensive experience in conducting developmental, educational and neuropsychological assessments with children/teens. She gained specialized training in the diagnosis of developmental delays, learning disorders, ADHD, and Autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Mignogna is a strong advocate for multidisciplinary team approaches to assessment/treatment, and regularly consults with doctors, schools, and other professionals in providing a continuum of care.

Elissa Mattar, M.Ed., LPC - Staff Therapist
Elissa Mattar holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology as well as a Masters of Education (M.Ed.)in Counseling, both from the University of Houston. During her studies, Elissa worked with children with emotional disturbances, abuse and neglect history, impulse control issues, and mental health disorders. Upon completion of her studies, she became licensed as a Professional Counselor-Intern and continued work with children, especially adolescents, with conduct disorders and substance abuse stemming from untreated mental health issues and or abuse or neglect. In addition to her work with children and adolescents, Elissa has provided intensive psychotherapy to adults with pervasive mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.
Christi received a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Texas Tech University, as well as a Masters of Education in Counseling from the University of St. Thomas. During her studies, she was a school counselor-intern at Mitchell Intermediate in The Woodlands. She worked with 5th & 6th grade students with their academic goals and also assisted with behavioral/social issues. In addition, Christi completed a student internship at The Woodlands Behavioral Health & Wellness Center in the summer of 2015 under the supervision of Melissa Mignogna, Ph.D. She worked with children dealing with ADHD, Autism, anxiety, depression and social issues. Upon completion of her studies, she became licensed as a Professional Counselor-Intern and continues to work with children and families with mental health issues at the center.
Prior to joining The Woodlands Behavioral Health & Wellness Center, Christi taught for seven years as a 5th and 6th grade teacher in CISD. She has worked with children with Autism, Asperger's, emotionally disturbed, and students with learning disabilities. She truly loves all ages of children and wants to continue to be an advocate for those who need assistance in their life.

Christi Jones, M.Ed, LPC-Intern
Sarah has a Master’s of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a Major of Psychology and Minor in Child and Family Services from Iowa State University. Sarah is the Program Manager and is responsible for coordinating all the treatment programs, provider schedules and for managing all administrative operations. Sarah was previously the Assistant Director of New Student Programs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and coordinated the orientation program for over 8,000 freshmen and parents to prepare families for the transition from high school to university. She has utilized her background and experience to develop our successful College Program, which includes college preparatory workshops to help freshmen successfully cope with the transition from high school to college.
As the lead consultant for our “Earlier the Better” study, she has guided the team in the implementation of pre- and post- developmental screening in a pre-school to identify children with developmental lags together with the implementation of “treatment” programs to help reduce these lags before they enter the formal classroom.

Jennifer Brickhouse, M.Ed. - Educational Diagnostician / Reading and Dyslexia Specialist
Jennifer Brickhouse graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in English Language Arts and Reading. Her first year teaching she taught English as a second language in a missionary school in the Cayman Islands before returning to the states to teach English in a magnet school that was ranked third in the nation for academics. Jennifer spent the first ten years of her career teaching primarily Senior English, the last three in CISD.
Jennifer's career focus shifted when she began to see that her daughter was struggling with reading and that her self-esteem was suffering due to dyslexia. She took courses and became certified to use the Multi-Sensory Linguistic approach to reading. Jennifer is currently working in The Woodlands in a charter school as a reading teacher and dyslexia specialist. She recently finished a graduate degree at Sam Houston State as an Educational Diagnostician. She lives in The Woodlands with her husband and three children.
Gillian Botha-Harvey obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree, Honors in Psychology Degrees, and Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology at UNISA in South Africa. She was previously the Head of the Department of Innovative Programs and the Regional Clinics Manager for the San Mateo Medical Center and Clinics. She was also the Director of the Forensic Psychiatric Center in Virginia, and the Regional Service Chief for Forensic Psychiatric Services in New York City. She initially qualified and worked as a licensed Clinical Psychologist in South Africa, taught at the University Of Natal Medical School, and was a Supervising Psychologist in the Department of Psychology at King George V Hospital. She brings a background of education, psychology, and healthcare operations management, and leadership skills in innovative service design, start-up and operation of new healthcare centers and re-engineering existing healthcare systems.
She was originally hired by Chronicity, Inc. to develop a pilot program for the integrated treatment of clients suffering from ADHD. She implemented this unique program in a startup clinic in The Woodlands, which has successfully treated clients for the past five years. Gillian, her husband Louis Harvey and Jim Zettel have been the sole owners of the program for the past six years. In addition to her responsibility of Chief of Operations, she meets with all new clients to determine their treatment needs and to guide them towards the most appropriate services. She also develops an individualized initial treatment plan for each client according to their assessment findings, then monitors and navigates the client’s progress through our integrated treatment approach.
Tanya Y. Banda, Ph.D.
Tanya Y. Banda, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist with advanced training and expertise in child psychology. She obtained her PhD in School Psychology at Texas A&M University, College Station. Dr. Banda completed a clinical child internship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she also completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in infant and early childhood mental health. Dr. Banda specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of early childhood disorders, including autism spectrum disorders, behavioral disorders, impact of stress and trauma, and developmental delays. Her areas of interest include assessment of children whose primary language is Spanish, as well as providing parents with developmental guidance in order to improve the parent-child relationship. Dr. Banda has extensive experience with assessment of children, adolescents and adults. In addition to early childhood mental health, Dr. Banda also has experience in collaborating with and providing mental health consultation to Head Start and other preschool programs. She has been in private practice since 2011 and has enjoyed working with clients of all ages and their families.

Marcia Baker is a Ph.D. candidate in Health Psychology with a projected graduation of December 2016. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern supervised by Dr. Andres Tapia, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Advanced Certified Prevention Specialist and Licensed Bachelors Social Worker. Marcia is a trainer for Strengthening Families Training Certification, Towards No Drug Abuse Certification, Youth Mental health First Aid and Prevention Skill training program for substance abuse prevention professionals and teaches/ trains adjunct in the field of substance abuse, prevention and mental health for numerous colleges and educational institutions. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher and is a Yoga practitioner for over 25 years.
Awards and accomplishments include: 2007, Hope Award in Houston from Sierra Tucson, 2008, Addiction Professional of the Year ,Houston, 2008, Appointed by the Mayor of Houston to Drug Policy Task Force for Prevention, 2009, Vice President of Texas Association of Addiction Professionals Houston Chapter and in 2013 nominated for White House Champion of Change for Public Health and Prevention. Marcia provides a wide range of services for individuals as well as groups.
